1833 Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS AU58 CAC O-105
When you think of later date bust halves, does this coin come to mind? Many of the latter dates just don’t come nice whatsoever. Finding CBH’s from the 1830’s with original toning that looks pleasing is a tall task.
Tinges of dandelion, tangerine, cerulean, and coral adorn the obverse and reverse. Luster encapsulates the overall wholesomeness of this coin, and accents the color handsomely. This is an eye-catching example.
This is an O-105, as evidenced by the wide open space in the milling at the outer point of star 12, as well as die defect dots visible between stars 5 and 6 on the obverse. On the reverse, the last S in ‘States’ is recut.
