In circulated grades 1847 is one of the most common SLD. What is uncommon, however, is the strict originality this coin exhibits. Pretty much every Seated Liberty Dollar you see has some form of cleaning or damage, as these coins were sent overseas. People just did not really care about these coins back in the day. With choice gunmetal gray circulation cameo, a good strike, and no detracting marks, there is also another reason why you barely see these dollars come this nice. CAC approved examples barely come up for sale because everyone keeps them. We would love to put this sweet coin in a good home. Throw your price guides out the window on this.
